Today is National Donut Day! And there are plenty of freebies to go around!
To celebrate the occasion, many of your favorite stores are going to be offering sweet treats for free on Friday, June 3. However, some will only throw in a donut if you buy a drink.

Krispy Kreme – Get a free doughnut of any variety at locations in the U.S. and Canada, excluding Connecticut. No purchase necessary.
Dunkin’ Donuts – Enjoy a free classic donut with the purchase of any beverage.
Duck Donuts – Redeem a Facebook offer for a free sugar donut.
LaMar’s Donuts – Print a golden ticket to receive a free donut. No purchase necessary.
Cumberland Farms – Get a free donut with a coffee or Chill Zone beverage purchase from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. at new or newly-remodeled locations.
Entenmann’s – Enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win free donuts for a year. There will be 10 lucky winners.
History of National Donut Day
National Donut Day is celebrated every year on the first Friday of June.
The Salvation Army actually started the holiday during the Great Depression as a way to raise money and bring awareness to its social service programs.
And in case you’re wondering, you can spell it either doughnut or donut.
