Is Dutch finally the more convenient vet care option pet parents have been waiting for? 

For many pet parents, even a simple question for the vet can turn into an expensive appointment. Dutch online vet care offers unlimited access to licensed vets online that can tackle 90% of your pet’s issues, making it easier to ask questions, get treatment guidance, and even offer discounts on prescriptions.

The appointment itself takes place over Zoom, making it super easy and convenient (just know that you need to have your pet on the Zoom call with you). Shortly after, the vet sends over a detailed care plan with personalized recommendations, including over-the-counter options for things like allergies. I loved that there was no pressure or hard sell on anything, and the vet was knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly! 

I like that if prescriptions are needed, they are added directly to your cart by the doctor which was really convenient. Shipping takes about a week, so if you need them quickly, there’s an option for expedited shipping. I would love to see Dutch Pet add the ability to have the prescriptions sent to a local pharmacy, too, especially for when meds are needed ASAP. Note that there is a $7 processing fee with a shipped order.

If you’re wondering about their licensing, she even had to get licensed in West Virginia since there is so much need there. And she said there have been instances where she’s had to tell people they needed to go right away to a vet to be seen in person (like broken legs, limping, etc). – Hip Sidekick, Angela

I could’ve talked to that vet for hours! What a great experience! As a first-time dog owner, I would’ve loved to have Dutch the day we brought our puppy home. She had four terrifying panic attacks within 48 hours that we were not prepared for. After taking her to an emergency vet the first day and paying $300 only to find out there was nothing wrong with her, it would have been nice to have Dutch by our side. I recorded her ‘seizures’ at the time, and it would have been better to share that with someone living in real time.

Although pets can’t speak for themselves, as a new dog owner, I find myself constantly asking Google or Chat about X or Y. With Dutch, I feel like I have a vet by my side, so I’m not constantly worried or researching the little things. The calls typically only last 10 minutes for routine visits, but they’re unlimited, and the vet had a wealth of knowledge that I loved to learn, so I will definitely be calling back soon! – Hip Sidekick, Chelsey
