As we start off the new year I want to cover a lot of topics on How to Save Money. This won’t be a formal series, but I do want to share with you quick and simple ways that I save both money and time.

One of my Favorite Money Saving Tips is to Purchase Ahead! It’s essentially stockpiling on items like Meat, Cheese, Cereal and things you use or know you are going to use.

Last week I found Ground Beef marked down. I always try to purchase meat when I find it on sale because I know I can cook it up and it will store well and be ready to go when we need it. I tend to purchase Meat in bulk when I find it at a good cost and I cook it up with some Onions and Salt and Pepper then I freeze it in smaller potions.

Ground Beef: Raw Meat Fresh White Onion Salt to Taste Pepper to Taste Garlic Powder

To Cook: Chop the Onion and Grill in the bottom of your pan with Olive Oil and Salt and Pepper, when the onions become transparent Add the meat and cook on Med/High for about 30-45 Minutes.

Drain the Meat and Freeze in Individual Portions to reheat quickly!

As I am making my menu plan I know exactly how numerous meals I can get from the remaining meat since it’s already portioned into about 2 (Cooked) Cup Bags.

With the Cooked Beef we can make Spaghetti, Chili, Enchiladas, Homemade Pizza, Tacos, Nachos, and more! It’s one of my favorite ways to save time because I can look at my menu plan in the morning and put my meat in the fridge to thaw by dinner time, or thaw it in the microwave if I’m in a hurry!

I also do the same thing with Chicken, I’ll hopefully cover that for you soon and I’ll share how to make your own homemade Chicken Broth! Yum!

Final Thoughts

The bottom line: a little research on save money buy ahead goes a long way. Compare your options, watch for seasonal offers, and never pay full price when a better deal is one click away.
