Our children’s fascination with Legos is undeniable. The joy of interlocking these vibrant, plastic bricks and creating something unique is an experience cherished by kids worldwide.

For our son’s 6th birthday, we decided to embrace his love for Legos and plan a budget-friendly Lego-themed party. We chose our local library as the venue, which already had a Lego collection for public use.

The total expense, including treats and invitations, was under $50, making it an affordable and fun-filled celebration.

Our son left the party with a ton of Lego sets gifted by his friends, adding to the overall excitement.

This post will help you plan a fun party with LEGO party ideas including DIY LEGO party supplies, LEGO party games, decorations, and LEGO party favors.

Regardless of your budget, you can still have a fantastic LEGO birthday party.

Lego Party Ideas

First, let’s talk about LEGO party supplies.  Yes, you can purchase a LEGO party in a box, like the ones here, but why not have DIY LEGO party supplies to save money and also have a more personal touch?

Our son turned six recently and wanted a LEGO-themed party, but we didn’t own enough LEGO bricks to make that happen, and we knew it would be costly to purchase enough.

We asked out local public library if we could rent their meeting room and use their LEGO supply. They host a monthly LEGO club for kids aged 4-9.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t rent the room, but they did say we could invite all of our sons friends to join at the next scheduled LEGO club, which happened to fall on his birthday.

We invited his classmates and a handful of friends to attend, and it was the perfect setup. While the party only lasted 1 hour, everyone had a excellent time building with thousands of LEGOs, and the party space was free.
