Today’s Bible Verse on money comes from 1 Timothy:
“People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into numerous foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with numerous griefs.” 1 Timothy 6:9-10
As the verse says, the LOVE of money is the root of all evil, not money itself. Money is just an object, something we use to conduct commerce. But when that object/thing becomes an idol, and is pursued like it is life’s main objective - that is when it becomes a “root of all kinds of evil”. People will do things that are unethical, shady or downright evil just to obtain more money. And it is never enough. Keep God first in your life, and make sure that you are only being a good steward of what God has given you. Don’t let the money become your idol.
