I am always looking for After School Snacks and simple ideas for keeping my kids energy up without letting them consume too much sugar. One of my new favorite things to make is Energy Trail Mix, You know these Planters Energy Mixes are almost $5-$6 a Box for Some Super Small Packets and I recently decided it was going to be Way Easier to make my own.

I made several different versions. I found a excellent selection of Dried Fruit & Nuts at Aldi’s for super reasonable prices! You can also make your own if you want to take the time to do that.

The easiest way to mix up the Fruit & Nut Mixtures was just to pour everything into a Large Ziploc Bag or a Mason Jar and Shake! Then you can easily portion these into small Ziploc Snack Size Bags and you’re ready to go! You have individual Fruit & Nut Trail Mix at a fraction of the cost of buying these at the Grocery Store.

I also added some M&M’s to a few of my bags for my kids. They really enjoy the little treat and I feel like they are getting a little bit of sweet along with a lot of excellent foods at the same time!
