Life is racing by, can I just be really honest with all of you and tell you that It can even be overwhelming at times. With 3 kids, a husband, this blog, kids in school, dance, basketball, church and family that lives close by life can just be sometimes well, Overwhelming!
I’ve been thinking a lot about New Years Resolutions and my Goals for the new year the last few weeks. I know it’s almost half way through January and I’m a little late on this :) But we still have 50 weeks left in the year so there’s still time to find your focus, set your goals and start Pressing on into the new year.
Recently I saw several friends post their “One Word” For the new year. I Loved the Idea of just One Word that kinda drives everything you do during the year. It’s not so much a Resolution but a motto that you live by this year.
As I’ve pondered my “One Word” this year I have really had one thing come up over and over again. I am learning to give myself grace in just about every area of my life. I’ve realized my kids don’t really notice most of the things I stress over and they really just want me to spend time with them, enjoying life. It can be hard to enjoy life when you have a mile long to do list or expectations of yourself that are not realistic and to be honest, that’s exactly where I have been. My own expectations for myself are higher than anyone Else’s expectations for me. So I’m learning to give myself grace, to say it’s OK if this or that isn’t done at the end of the day. It’s OK to mark a few things that aren’t key off your to do list and just focus on what really matters. This is a learning process for me and one that I’m determined to master!
So with that being said here’s My One Word for 2014…. Simplify!
In just about every area of my life this is the word that screams at me. Simplify what you do during the day, Simplify your to-do list, Simplify your life, Simplify your shopping schedule, your household chores, Menu Planning, Cooking, etc. I know I have a lot of work to be done in this area so I’m excited to not only be doing this in my life, but also be sharing ideas, resources and projects with you along the way.
On the blog, my goal always has been and continues to be “Making Saving Money Simple” I want to simplify the process for you. Give you the best coupons, match them up with sales, give you ideas on how to save money around your house, So this is PERFECTLY in line with everything I want for you and I’m excited to bring you even more ways that you can simplify not only the process of saving money but every aspect of your life.
So Join me this year, I’d love to know what areas you’re struggling with and where you need to simplify. Maybe we can attack this goal together! :)
Final Thoughts
The bottom line: a little research on one word new year goes a long way. Compare your options, watch for seasonal offers, and never pay full price when a better deal is one click away.
