Our pets are members of the family.  Chewie, our Golden Retriever, joins us on our family road trips, cheers (barks) for the kids at sports games, and hikes with us on trails in and outside of the city.

My health has always been key, but after a cancer diagnosis and now having a family of my own, I work even harder to ensure my family and I are living a healthy life.  We love trying out new, fun ways to eat better and get more exercise.  This applies to our furry family members as well.

Fresh, Natural, Refrigerated Dog Food

Because Freshpet knows how key Chewie’s health is to me, they offered to send some of their fresh, natural, refrigerated dog food for Chewie to try.

Before I try any new products I like to learn about them first.  It was encouraging to see that Freshpet believes all pets should have real, fresh food.  There are no preservatives or additives in their recipes, so this food comes straight from the fridge.

Made in the USA, this pet food has all-natural chicken or beef as the first ingredient. There are only all-natural ingredients and this food does not have artificial or chemical preservatives, BHA, propylene glycol, flavors, or colors that you frequently find in dry and canned pet food.

Chewie Tries Freshpet

First, I explained to Chewie that he was going to get to try a new food.  I’m not sure he totally understood what I was saying, but he did get very excited when I pulled the Freshpet bag out of the refrigerator.  It looked like human food, so fresh, with chunks of chicken and vegetables.

Then, he became even more thrilled when he saw me put the new food into his bowl.  He doesn’t normally jump, but he had to get a sneak peek of what he was about to eat.

He loved the food so much, it was hard for me to get a good picture.  It took me several tries to get a picture of him with food still left in the bowl.

Chewie and I Approve!

Overall, Freshpet was a hit!  Our fur family loves the fact that this pet food is another way to keep our family healthy.  Chewie obviously loved the taste of this nutritious food.

Final Thoughts

The bottom line: a little research on refrigerator fresh healthy food goes a long way. Compare your options, watch for seasonal offers, and never pay full price when a better deal is one click away.
