Unlock Savings with Dick Blick Deals and Discounts
Dick Blick Art Materials is a beloved retailer for artists of all levels, known for its extensive selection and quality products. While their prices are generally competitive, there are many ways to make your budget stretch further. The key is knowing where to look and how to take advantage of their various saving opportunities.
Always Check the Clearance and Sale Sections
One of the easiest ways to find significant Dick Blick deals is to regularly browse their dedicated clearance and sales pages on their website. These sections are updated frequently with discontinued items, overstocked products, or last-chance offers, often at drastically reduced prices. You might discover fantastic deals on anything from paints and brushes to canvases and easels. It's like a treasure hunt for artists!
Sign Up for Email Alerts and Text Messages
The Dick Blick email newsletter is a goldmine for savvy shoppers. By signing up, you'll receive direct notifications about upcoming sales, exclusive discount codes, and special promotions that might not be advertised elsewhere. Sometimes, they even send out subscriber-only coupons, giving you an edge on saving money before others even know about the deals. Many retailers also offer discounts for signing up for text message alerts, so keep an eye out for that option too.
Strategic Shopping: Maximizing Your Budget at Dick Blick
Beyond finding specific Dick Blick deals, a strategic approach to your shopping can lead to substantial long-term savings. Think about how you buy, when you buy, and what alternatives are available.
Take Advantage of Price Matching
Dick Blick has a price matching policy, which is excellent news for budget-conscious artists. If you find an identical item at a lower price from a competitor, they may match that price. This policy ensures you don't have to choose between Dick Blick's selection and a cheaper price elsewhere. Always have the competitor's advertised price ready when you contact them or visit a store.
Buy in Bulk or Larger Quantities
For frequently used supplies like canvases, certain paints, or paper, buying in larger quantities or multi-packs often works out cheaper per unit. While the initial outlay might be higher, the per-item cost is typically much lower than buying individual pieces over time. This is especially beneficial for art students or prolific artists who go through materials quickly.
Consider Blick's House Brands
Dick Blick offers several house brands, such as Blick Studio, Blick Essentials, and Blickrylic. These brands are developed to provide reliable quality at a more affordable price point than many national brands. They are often an excellent option for practice, experimentation, or for artists on a tighter budget who still want dependable materials. Don't be afraid to try them out, as their performance often rivals more expensive alternatives.
Timing Your Purchases for the Best Dick Blick Deals
Knowing when to shop can be just as important as knowing where to find deals. Certain times of the year and specific promotional cycles offer better opportunities for savings.
Seasonal Sales Events
Dick Blick, like many retailers, hosts significant sales around major holidays. Look out for deals during:
- Black Friday/Cyber Monday: Typically in late November, these sales often feature some of the year's deepest discounts.
- Back-to-School: Around late summer to early fall, you'll find promotions on essential art supplies, perfect for students.
- Holiday Sales: Throughout December, leading up to Christmas, and post-holiday clearance in January.
- Spring and Summer Sales: Often tied to new product releases or seasonal creative projects.
Watch for Free Shipping Offers
Shipping costs can quickly add up, especially for larger or heavier art supplies. Dick Blick frequently offers free shipping promotions, sometimes requiring a minimum purchase amount. Consolidate your purchases and wait for these offers to avoid extra fees. Signing up for their newsletter or following their social media accounts can alert you to these limited-time deals.
Finding and Using Dick Blick Discount Codes Effectively
Discount codes are a straightforward way to save money, but knowing where to find the valid ones and how to use them is crucial.
Reliable Sources for Discount Codes
Beyond their email newsletter, you can often find valid Dick Blick discount codes on reputable coupon websites. These sites gather and verify codes, saving you the time and hassle of searching endlessly. Always check the terms and conditions of a code, as they often have expiration dates, minimum purchase requirements, or apply only to specific product categories.
Tips for Using Codes
- Check Expiration Dates: Make sure the code is still valid before attempting to use it.
- Read the Fine Print: Some codes apply only to certain brands, quantities, or exclude sale items.
- Apply at Checkout: There will be a clearly marked box for 'promo code' or 'discount code' on the checkout page. Enter the code and click 'apply' to see your savings.
- Stacking Codes: Unfortunately, most retailers, including Dick Blick, only allow one discount code per order. Choose the code that offers you the greatest savings.
By combining these strategies, you can confidently shop for your art supplies, knowing you're getting the best possible Dick Blick deals. Your creativity shouldn't be limited by your budget, and with a little smart planning, it won't be.
