Why Crate and Barrel is known for its quality

This attention to detail means that a Crate and Barrel purchase is often seen as an investment, designed to withstand daily use and remain a part of your home for many years.
Timing Your Purchases for Crate and Barrel Deals
One of the best ways to save money at Crate and Barrel is to understand their sales cycles and plan your purchases accordingly. They frequently offer promotions, but some times of the year are better than others for finding the deepest discounts.
When do Crate and Barrel prices typically drop?
Crate and Barrel has several predictable sale events throughout the year. The biggest price drops usually occur during major holiday weekends and seasonal clearances. Here's what to look for:
- Holiday Sales: Expect significant discounts around long weekends like Memorial Day, Labor Day, and particularly during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday period. These end-of-year sales often feature some of the best deals across almost all product categories.
- Seasonal Clearances: As new collections arrive, Crate and Barrel clears out old inventory. Look for these sales in late winter, early summer, and after major holidays. This is a great time to snag items from previous seasons at reduced prices.
- Mid-Year Sales: Sometimes the brand will have specific promotions in the middle of the year to refresh their inventory. Keep an eye out for these unadvertised or less common events by signing up for their email list.
Tips for catching sales:
- Sign up for Email Alerts: This is perhaps the easiest way to stay informed. Crate and Barrel often sends out newsletters detailing upcoming sales, exclusive online offers, and sometimes even early access to promotions.
- Follow on Social Media: Brands often announce flash sales or special offers on their social media channels, giving you a quick heads-up on limited-time deals.
- Check the "Sale" Section Regularly: The Crate and Barrel website always has a dedicated "Sale" or "Clearance" section. This area is updated frequently with discounted items, sometimes including pieces that are being phased out or are available in limited quantities.
Maximizing Your Savings with Crate and Barrel Deals
Beyond waiting for big sales, there are other strategies you can use to reduce the cost of your Crate and Barrel purchases. Combining these methods can lead to substantial savings.
Utilizing Crate and Barrel discount codes and coupons
Discount codes, also known as promo codes or coupon codes, are a fantastic way to save a percentage off your order or get free shipping. Here's how to find and use them:
- Official Website & Emails: Sometimes Crate and Barrel will post codes directly on their homepage or include them in their promotional emails.
- Third-Party Coupon Sites: Many websites specialize in collecting and verifying discount codes from various retailers. Before making a purchase, it's always worth doing a quick search for "Crate and Barrel discount codes" to see if any are available.
- Loyalty Programs and Credit Cards: Crate and Barrel may offer loyalty programs or co-branded credit cards that provide exclusive discounts, rewards points, or special financing options. These can be particularly beneficial for frequent shoppers.
Considering outlet stores and clearance events
If you're looking for the deepest discounts, Crate and Barrel outlet stores can be a goldmine. These locations often carry floor models, overstocked items, or pieces with minor imperfections at significantly reduced prices. If you have an outlet store nearby, it's definitely worth a visit. Additionally, Crate and Barrel occasionally holds online clearance events, offering similar savings to their physical outlet stores but accessible from the comfort of your home.
Shipping and Returns Policy for Crate and Barrel Shoppers
Understanding the logistics of shipping and returns is just as important as finding a good deal, especially when buying larger furniture items. Knowing the policies upfront can save you headaches later.
Crate and Barrel shipping options and costs
Crate and Barrel offers various shipping methods, from standard ground delivery to expedited options for those who need items more quickly. Shipping costs vary depending on the size and weight of your order, as well as your location. For larger furniture pieces, they often provide specialized white glove delivery services, which include in-home assembly and packaging removal. It's always a good idea to check the estimated shipping costs and delivery times before finalizing a purchase.
Keep an eye out for promotions that offer free or reduced shipping, particularly for orders over a certain amount. These free shipping thresholds can change, so check the website's banner or promotional details for current offers.
Understanding the Crate and Barrel return policy
Crate and Barrel generally has a customer-friendly return policy. Most items can be returned within 30 days of purchase, provided they are in their original condition. However, there are some important exceptions to be aware of:
- Custom or Made-to-Order Items: These often have stricter return policies or may not be returnable at all, as they are specifically created for you.
- Final Sale Items: Items marked as "final sale" typically cannot be returned or exchanged.
- Gift Registry Items: Special provisions may apply to items purchased from a gift registry.
You can usually return items in-store or by mail. If returning by mail, you might be responsible for shipping costs. Always keep your receipt or proof of purchase, and review the full, up-to-date return policy on the Crate and Barrel website before making a significant purchase.
