Valentine’s Day Hearts For Kids (Easy Way To Say I Love You!)

We tell our kids that we love them all the time, multiple times a day, right?

But, how often do you tell them specific reasons why you love them.

The days leading up to Valentine’s Day is the perfect chance for you to share new reasons everyday with your kids.

With some colored construction paper, a stencil, a pen, and tape you have the tools that you need to shower your kiddos with all the reasons you love them so much, or some of your favorite things they do.

This is also a helpful reminder to you as a parent what some of your favorite things about them are.

This could be your newest fun tradition. Here are a few more of my favorite crafts and activities for kids.

Starting with a heart-shaped stencil trace and cut-out hearts on colored construction paper.

I prefer traditional Valentine colors- reds, pinks, white, and purple. However, any color will work.

If you’re a baker, chances are you might have a heart-shaped cookie cutter. Not only is that perfect for making Valentine’s Day sugar Cookies, but to trace the hearts. But, if you don’t have a cookie cutter, finding an image and printing it online will work just as well.

I like to have all of the hearts cut out at once, so they’re ready to go each day. Make as many as you want. I think it’s most fun to start this on February 1, and add a new heart each day until Valentine’s Day.

Once you have all your hearts traced and cut out, write some of the reasons you love you child, or your favorite things about them.

You can either fill out all of the hearts at once, or write on them day by day. Either way works well.

After your child is asleep each night, tape a new heart outside their bedroom door.

If you have more than one child in a bedroom, you could use a single color for each child, add one child heart to the top half and the other to the bottom, or simply write their names on the top of each heart.

Each morning, your child(ren) will find a new heart with another thing you love about them, or maybe one of your favorite things about them or something that they do.

You can keep these hearts on the door all month for decoration.

You can also save the hearts each year in a safe place, and give them to your child when they head off to college, or when they get their first home.

This is a great way to remind them of some of the things they liked and did as a child.
